Each session uses techniques that are utilized to target your specific individual goals. A variety of techniques are available to the massage therapist including swedish, neuromuscular, myofascial, and stretching/mobilization techniques to address your musculosketelal injury or overuse patterns; help with recovery between athletic events; pre-/ post-surgical rehabilitation; and/or relaxation techniques to assist with stress and anxiety relief.

Therapeutic Massage

Each session uses a specialized pregnancy massage pillow that allows the mother-to-be to lie comfortably and safely in a face-down position or alternatively side-lying pillows and techniques can be used. The techniques utilized are safe and designed to target your specific individual goals. A variety of techniques are available to the massage therapist including swedish, neuromuscular, myofascial, and stretching/mobilization techniques to address your needs throughout pregnancy.

Therapeutic Pregnancy Massage

This session utilizes all of the same techniques in the custom therapeutic massage with the edition of cups. Cupping is used to assist with pain relief, reduction of inflammation, and to increase blood flow in the area cups are applied. The cups utilized in this massage therapy session are not glass and are therefore, not applied with heat like an acupuncturist may do. The cups utilized here are acrylic and and suction is created through a pump that can allow more easy control of the pressure applied. Cups are typically applied after some initial massage techniques have been applied first. Cups may be moved around or left stationary in a specific area. Most commonly cups are applied to the back and shoulder areas. Resultant cupping marks, if any occur, should not last more than a few days and should not be painful.

Therapeutic Massage WITH Cupping

Thai massage is very different from a typical table massage. This work is done on a special mat on the floor while the patient is fully dressed in comfortable clothes. The work can include compression, sen energy manipulation, special liniment/oil/or herbal compresses, and/or movement through mobilization and stretches. This work is typically applied by the practitioner using much of the body including the use of feet, knees, hips, forearms, elbow, and/or hands throughout the session to achieve the desired result.

Therapeutic Thai Massage

This session utilizes all of the same techniques in the custom therapeutic massage with WITH the addition of Reiki energy therapy for added relaxation and healing (see Reiki Energywork for more information about Reiki).

Therapeutic Massage WITH Reiki

This type of work is actually not a massage as much as a specific energetic technique used to release energy blockages and promote healing. For those unfamiliar with Reiki, it can include light hands-on touch and/or hovering above the body in the energy fields. The work is typically focused on moving energy through the body through the chakra's and/or specific areas of focus.  This can be booked entirely as an energetic session here or incorporated into your custom therapeutic massage session (see other treatment options).
